Curator's reflection by Katarina Siltavuori:

rintama         battlefront
mies              man
talo               house

A type of house built after the Second World War for the families of soldiers who fought on the battlefront. I have always been interested in history and therefore I love stories about the past. The series of work ‘The House’ illustrates stories which are dated right after the Second World War in Finland, the time when people had to reconstruct their lives. These houses represent for me the atmosphere and feeling of life after the war; hopefulness, brokenness, persistence and a new beginning.

Réflexion de la curatrice Katarina Siltavuori:

Rintama          front
mies                homme
talo                  maison
