Christer Jonsson, Sweden

Christer Jonsson is a silversmith and jewellery artist. Jonsson graduated from The University College Of Art, Craft And Design (Konstfack), Stockholm (1977) and established a studio together with Lena Bergestad Jonsson 1980 in Stockholm. In 2005 they established Studio Jungfruhuset in Västervik. Jonsson is represented in a great number of public collections: Nationalmuseum, Stockholm, Nordiska museet, Stockholm, The Röhsska Museum, Gothenburg, Kunstindustrimuseum, Copenhagen, Kunstindistrimuseet, Oslo, The National Museum Of Scottland, Edinburgh,  and The Museum Of Design And Applied Art, Turin.

In his exhibitions, Jonsson has focused on the development of the art jewellery in conjunction with design, functions, applications, new materials, including the symbolic contents influenced by the “vanitas” conceptions of The Baroque Era.
