Cecilie Lind, Norway

(b.1973)

Cecilie Lind works with sculptures, objects and installations. The source of inspiration thrives from subject matter concerning politics and contemporary questions, and the works often have a distinct agenda.  She aims to comment and creates an arena for reflection, rather than giving straightforward answers and easy solutions. The projects are often put in a context of dystopia to bring the issue to a head, and give the projects intensity.

A central part of Lind’s artistic venue is to explore and combine different materials and medias, such as ceramics, ready-mades, perspex, car enamel, silkscreen, photo, to give the works a machine-made and mass-produced character and to imitate a commercial esthetical expressions.
